Ogden, IA — June 27, 2018 – A weekend plagued by inclement weather had the Cam Reimers Motorsports team chomping at the bit to get out on track to do battle for Rounds 1 & 2 of the Lucas Oil Midwest Short Course League. Their patience and preparation would pay off as Cam Reimers brought home two podium finishes to kick off the 2018 season at the infamous Crandon International Raceway in Crandon, Wisconsin.
After all practice and qualifying sessions were scratched due to heavy rain, the team would face a doubleheader day on Sunday, June 17th. The track crew worked feverishly to prepare a racing surface for the drivers that would put on a great show for the thousands of dedicated off-road fans in attendance.
REIMERS STARTS STRONG IN THE LUCAS OIL MIDWEST SHORT COURSE LEAGUE OPENER
With lineups determined by a random draw, Reimers started in the 8th position on the far outside of the legendary high-speed land rush start. The #21 SSI Decals truck rocketed off the line and swept around the outside in turn 1 to grab the 3rd position. After an intense battle and jockeying for prime racing real estate, the Iowan would bring home a podium finish in 3rd in Round 1.
The team would be put to the test to thoroughly prep the #21 Pro Lite for the next race that took place in only a few hours. Their hard work would yield success in the end as Reimers got off to another solid start and put in a strong charge that would earn him another podium finish in Round 2.
“It was a great way to kick off our 2018 campaign,” said Reimers. “The weather threw us a curveball but my crew battled through the condensed schedule and gave me a really good truck to go out and challenge for the top spot. We probably should’ve went a little further on our dry-slick setup to give me some better speed the second half of the race but two podiums in one day is an awesome start to the season.”
The sharp SSI Decals truck was undoubtedly a fan-favorite at Crandon. The SSI Decals color scheme will make a return at Bark River International Raceway in Bark River, Michigan later in the 2018 season. Showing off several different looks this year at Cam Reimers Motorsports, you can look forward to seeing the 51FIFTY Energy Drink livery at all the West Coast races and the Ionomy and SSI Decals designs throughout Wisconsin and Bark River. For upcoming Rounds 3 & 4 of the Lucas Oil Midwest Short Course League at ERX Motor Park, be sure to keep your eye out for the #21 KICKER Audio Pro Lite.
“KICKER Audio has been a long-time supporter of ours and it is awesome to showcase them as the title sponsor at ERX”, said Cam Reimers. “Not only are they a company that prides themselves in the phenomenal products they make, but they are an awesome group of people that loves having fun and taking risks, something that everyone in the off-road community can definitely associate with.”Cam Reimers currently sits 2nd in the 2018 Lucas Oil Midwest Short Course League points championship and looks to improve his position heading into the next events at ERX Motor Park outside Minneapolis, Minnesota on July 13th & 14th.
